In the context of the Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam OFF SCHEDULE, the cultural side programme of the MBFWA, WOW presented (January 16th) WOW Fashion Volcano, an evening where young fashion talents from WOW and young designers that have worked with WOW previously presented their work. WOW FASHION VOLCANO

WOW Amsterdam being a cultural hotspot is a volcano of ideas and it is proud to present some of its young and energetic talents in the context of the MBFWA OFF SCHEDULE. During the evening of January 16th ten fashion designers who are either residents or have worked with WOW presented their new collections and designs in a sequence of interviews, installations and catwalk shows. In the course of the evening each fashion designer had the possibility to enlighten the public on his or her practice. In addition to the exhibition of Lisa Konno’s womenswear collection for Afriek that is on show in WOW’s Green Gallery from January to March, there were installations of the latest work of Tijme Veldt, Fernanda Fernandez, Vita Stasiukynaite and Anne van den Boogaard; interviews with Winde Rienstra, Anouk van der Laan, Karim Adduchi and Wintervacht as well as two fashion shows by Ting Gong and Michael van der Meide. The different activities aimed to leave a space for the fashion designer to express their creativity not only through their designs, but also in the way they present them. For the same purpose the event took place in different locations inside WOW Amsterdam.
