WOW Artist in Residence Oscar Abraham Pabón Morales presents “Double Crochet”, an exhibition that aims to create a dialogue between objects taken from the streets and the history of the WOW building (old Hogere Technische School).

Departing from second-hand furniture and found material his aim is to create modern sculptures that establish a relationship with their surroundings and invite to reflect on the architecture and history of the building. In his process he aims to establish through repetition a relation between decorative art and geometrical art, or rational thought. Is there a decorative and repetitive process in the rational art of the old Hogere Technische School that derives from modern and rational architecture? What is its decor? What is the style of the tools used inside this building?

Oscar Abraham Pabón Morales (VE) lives and works in Amsterdam. He graduated in 2014 from the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten.
