World at a Crossroads – Open Call, Wake Up Call consists of thirteen one-minute films by various artists reflecting on our volatile present and envisioning our future, by merging performance and portrayal and appropriating texts and juxtaposing to still and moving images.
Libia Castro (ES) and Ólafur Ólafsson (IS) are an artist duo based in Rotterdam and Berlin. Their work is collaborative and interdisciplinary, and addresses injustice, inequalities and emancipation. They have exhibited their works at various international venues, including KunstWerke Berlin, The National Museum of Contemporary Art Oslo, Secession Vienna, Liverpool Biennial, Sydney Biennale, the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow and at the Icelandic Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale.
Every month, The One Minutes Foundation puts out a new series of 60-second films that investigate how we perceive and engage with moving image. Museums and cultural organisations around the world subscribe to the series.
