WOW hosted light artist Katinka Marac and sound artist Ivo Bol for a couple of months to work on the production a beautiful light and sound installation called ‘LINES’.
LINES is a miniature landscape of mist, sound, and light, in which the weather is captured in a transparant box. Whirling mist, slow moving lightscapes, and soft whispering sounds encircle the audience in an infinite moment. We are constantly in motion, just like the weather. The grand cycles, patterns, and rhythms in nature are also present at a small scale in our bodies. Take a seat and let yourself be carried away.
Katinka Marac
Katinka Marac designs light for contemporary dance and performance and autonomous light installations. Katinka has a preference for multi-disciplinary collaborations that combine dance, music, and visual art. She is fascinated by the body, movement, space, and rhythm. Her lighting designs often disrupt the experience of space and time and examine the relationship between tangible exterior space and inner space.
Ivo Bol
Ivo Bol is an Amsterdam based composer, live performer, and sound artist. Bol makes installations and compositions for dance, theater, film, and live performances. Magnifying the atmosphere of small details, Bol samples and manipulates lost and found sounds to create a new soundworld.
